Public Notice - RCMP Warning

After weighing privacy concerns, the RCMP decided last week to warn the public about the upcoming release of a man convicted of “sexual assault, assault, break and enter, being unlawfully in a dwelling and failing to comply with various court orders.”

Antoine Smallgeese, 27,  who will be released from the South Mackenzie Correctional Complex in Hay River on June 9, is considered a high risk to re-offend, say police, who add that their warning is based on the fact that he poses “a risk of significant harm to the public." Smallgeese will be on probation after his release and will be required to follow strict conditions, they said and added that, “the intent of this process is to enable citizens to take suitable precautionary measures.

RCMP is warning that any form of vigilante activity or other unreasonable conduct will not be tolerated."
