Teachers - 6/7D homeroom (English)
My name is Tyler Craig and this will be my first year living and teaching in Yellowknife. I’m originally from Wiarton, Ontario, which is a small town on the Bruce Peninsula. I attended university in Sudbury, Ontario at Laurentian University where I completed a Bachelor’s in Sport and Physical education, and a Bachelor’s in Education. Although this is my first year in Yellowknife, my partner and I have spent the previous few years teaching in Fort Good Hope in the SAHTU.
In my spare time, I enjoy camping, hiking, canoeing, and being on snowmobiles and quads. Additionally, I enjoy playing sports, going to the gym, and spending time in the kitchen cooking and learning new things. Growing up I spent countless hours playing competitive sports including hockey, baseball, and golf. The past few years I have enjoyed coaching hockey and volleyball and hope to contribute my knowledge of sports and active living at William McDonald.
This year I will be filling in until the end of February as the homeroom teacher for the 6/7D class and will teach English for the 6/7C class.
I’m excited for this new adventure in Yellowknife and at William McDonald!
